2018 Presenter Proposal - Breakout Session

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION 

1. Breakout sessions for RSAC 2018 should support the conference theme of Raising Student Achievement.  Session content should reflect current educational trends, educational research, and best practices in education.  The purpose of breakout sessions is to give educators the latest research based information and/or strategies that can be used to improve or enhance instruction and student achievement. 

2. NO COMMERCIAL MATERIALS/PRODUCTS/SERVICES (books, purchased software or services, purchased supplemental or instructional material, etc.) may be sold or promoted during breakout sessions.  Participants should leave sessions able to implement ideas presented without having to buy any specific product or service.

3.  All sessions will be 60 minutes.  Internet is provided in all breakout rooms.  A screen, projector cart with power, and a table are provided. Presenters must provide their own laptops and speakers.  Other A-V equipment must be ordered from Pheasant Run at the presenter's expense.

4. Sessions are limited to a maximum of two presenters.  THE LEAD PRESENTER LISTED BELOW WILL BE GIVEN FREE REGISTRATION ON THE DAY PRESENTING.  Presenter 2 will be required to register and pay a registration fee.  Lunch will be provided. 

5.  The deadline for proposals is May 11.  Applicants will be notified by May 25 as to the status of their proposal(s).

Second presenters will be required to pay a registration fee. The presenter listed below will be required to pay a registration fee on the day they present regardless of their status on any other breakout session.

INFORMATION FOR PROGRAM BOOK: Submit a title and description for your proposed 60 minute breakout session. Titles must be 50 characters or less. Descriptions should be clear and concise. Submitted information will appear in the conference program book given to all conference attendees. Check the title and descriptions carefully for misspellings and grammatical errors.

Audiovisual equipment: Presentation rooms will be equipped with a screen and LCD projector. LCD projectors may not be compatible with newer technology (newer laptops, iPads, tablets, etc). Presenters will need to provide any necessary adaptors. Presenters are responsible for providing their own laptop computer. If a presentation requires additional AV equipment, presenter shall contact Pheasant Run Resort (www.pheasantrun.com) for equipment availability and pricing. If there is a concern about compatibility, please provide your own projector.
 

 
Handouts: Presenters must provide their own handouts to participants. As a courtesy, RSAC will post handouts on the RSAC website. To post handouts on the website, submit them electronically to bjaquet@kidsroe.org no later than Nov. 16, 2018.
 

 
To allow participants the most flexibility, RSAC asks some presenters to repeat their session. If selected to be a presenter, you are agreeing to repeat this session if requested by the RSAC committee.
 
The integrity of the Raising Student Achievement Conference is dependent on its presenters. By submitting this presentation application you agree to make every effort to attend and present your session, if selected. Be sure to mark your calendar today to attend the conference on December 3 & 4, 2018.
