The Amateur Open is for Novice Sculptors of all ages. Recognition certificates are presented at the awards ceremony.
Each team receives one block of ice that measures approximately 3’ x 3’ x 5’. Entrants must attend a safety briefing and demonstrate competence in handling the ice sculpting tools.
There will be twenty spaces. Teams are made up of two persons. Participants are provided the noon and evening meals during the competition period.
Amateur Open entry fee is $75, (waived if artist has paid for an Ice Alaska sculpting class.) Fees can be paid in cash or by credit card at the time of final registration on March 19 at the Sculptor Support Office room 11, Main Office; at the Ice Art Park.
