Thanks for your interest in Modern Photographers.  Membership is based on the following qualifications:

A)  Applicant must have an established legal business in the area they are applying.

B)  Applicant must have Liability Insurance

C)  Applicant must maintain a website and/or blog which displays a variety of clients, showing that they have experience with multiple clients.  (new photographers who only have a few clients on their sites should not apply)

D)  Applicant must carry backup equipment (camera body, variety of lenses, and lighting equipment if applicable) to each shoot.  We understand that lighting equipment isn't as important for portrait sessions as it is for weddings.  We also understand that not everyone has a backup for 70-200 lens, we are only asking that you carry a lens that you can substitue should your primary lens stop working. 

Once qualified,  current members (local members as well as a board) will vote on membership based on 3 factors:

1)  Reputation (in their local community as well as the photographic community)

2)  Skill  (lighting, composition, exposure, etc...)

3)  Creativity  (originality in portfolio)

Once approved,  the applicant will be sent an invoice for the annual membership fee of $250.00.   Thanks for your interest,  good luck!
