New RA Application

Hi there! We’re excited you’re considering a Resident Assistant (RA) position. As a role model and representative of Westfield State University, becoming an RA offers a unique and rewarding leadership experience. You’ll have a direct impact on the students and community.

Please be aware that we currently only have openings in our Traditional Halls (Courtney, Davis, Dickinson, Lammers)

Priority application deadline extended to Monday, June 7th!

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis after June 7th if openings remain.

Position Requirements

Student Staff members must meet the following terms for employment:

• Have completed at least two full time collegiate semesters at time of employment and must have and maintain a minimum cumulative and semester GPA of 2.4.

• Be enrolled as a full-time student during the employment period. 

• Be available to attend all scheduled trainings and departmental and building staff meetings (Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:30 pm).

• Be in good academic and judicial standing with Westfield State University.

• Preference will be given for applicants that have lived on-campus at Westfield State University for at least one, and preferably two, semesters before hire. In cases of exceptional related experiences, candidates not meeting the residency requirement will still be considered for RA positions.

REFERENCES

Please provide the names of two individuals you have asked to serve as a reference for you. A Residential Life staff member (RA, RD, AC, etc) ideally should complete ONE of the references. We encourage you to use a supervisor, Westfield State University professional staff member, or faculty member to complete the second reference. Please do not ask friends, roommates or family members to serve as a reference for you. Our selection team will contact references later in the selection process as needed.

INTERVIEWS

Candidate interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis. Interviews may not be extended to all applicants. If you are selected for an interview and will receive additional instructions on how to setup your interview. A cover letter and resume are optional and may be sent to raselection@ma.edu you if you choose.
