Preparing High School Students for College

The Banacos Academic Center at Westfield State University invites parents and students with disabilities to a session on preparing high school students (9th - 12th grade!) for college. We are also interested in sharing with you what we expect of college students and the differences between high school and college for students with disabilities. We hope to have disability/accessibility services staff from our sister Massachusetts State Universities and Westfield State University admissions staff present for these sessions, too.  Bring your questions with you!

The Banacos Academic Center houses two support programs for students with disabilities. Disability Services provides reasonable accommodations and referral support for any student at any point in their academic career. The Learning Disabilities Program is an admissions based program for students with a learning disorder or ADHD.

We invite you to attend an hour session to discuss these questions. Sessions will close after 50 people sign up.  All of our sessions will be held remotely through Zoom sessions on the following days:

 Thursday, Jan. 14 at noon

Friday, Jan. 15 at 4:00 p.m.

Tuesday, Jan. 19 at noon and 4:00 p.m.

Thursday, Jan. 21 at noon and 4:00 p.m.

Monday, Jan. 25 at noon

Wednesday Jan. 27 at 4:00 p.m.

A Zoom link will be sent to your email within minutes after you sign up. There is no need to submit your form twice.  If you do not receive an email from banacos@westfield.ma.edu, then please write to that email address and notify us.

Please fill in the information requested in the form below and sign up for one of the sessions.
