- In an effort to reduce staff absences due to illness and to protect the wellbeing of staff and customers with health vulnerabilities, all staff are required to mask while at work (on going as of March 2023). Masks are supplied.

Job Description:
A south Winnipeg garden centre is seeking energetic greenhouse production staff for the busy spring season. The successful applicants will ensure that all plant material gets transplanted, priced and labeled in a timely and accurate manner. This person will work as part of a team of transplanter/production staff. This team will report to the production supervisor and/or the garden centre owners. Previous experience in small business is an asset. Previous experience in greenhouse production (or similar task) is an asset.
This position also involves watering, moving of plants and other merchandise, record keeping, shopkeeping and other greenhouse-related duties as required.
Key Qualifications:
• Reliable transportation is a must, as we are 4 km outside of the perimeter highway in an area not serviced by city buses
• Strong attention to details and interest in preventing errors
• Must be hardworking and physically fit
• Demonstrated excellence in time-management skills
• Able to perform multiple tasks efficiently
• Positive and upbeat attitude
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment that is subject to numerous schedule and priority changes and short-notice activity
• Demonstrated ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance
• Ability to work in a hot and humid environment
• Ability to stand and work steadily for extended periods of time (shifts are 8 hours, 5 days per week)
