Welcome to the WPC 2013 Volunteer Application Form

The World Parkinson Coalition is looking for dedicated volunteers to help at the 3rd World Parkinson Congress (WPC 2013) from October 1 – 4, 2013. Volunteers will receive free access to the conference sessions (timetables will allow each volunteer to have time to attend a few sessions), one free meal per worked shift, two volunteer shirts, and a Certificate of Appreciation. The WPC 2013 will take place at the Palais des congrès de Montréal (Montréal Convention Center) inMontréal, Canada.

  • All correspondence with the volunteers will be only done by e-mail; you should therefore have a VALID personal e-mail address that you check REGULARLY.
  • You should be based in Montréal or the surrounding region. We will only consider applications from volunteers outside of Montréal as long as you arrange and pay for your own transportation and accommodation.
  • Please note that the WPC is unable to provide Letter of Invitations to help with visa procedures but you may create your own by visiting the WPC website. Visit the website of Citizenship and Immigration Canada to see if you to obtain a visa to enter Canada.
  • The conference secretariat is unable to provide any financial assistance to volunteers. It is the sole responsibility of the volunteer to take care of his or her own accommodation and travel costs.
  • The information you provide on this form is considered confidential and will only be used for reviewing and selecting volunteers for WPC 2013.

If yes, please specify the days and time you are available. Please note: There will be two shifts per day. Please note: The morning shift could start as early as 7:30AM, the afternoon shift could finish as late as 7:00PM. The final shift times have not yet been decided and will be announced at a later stage.




Volunteers must attend the mandatory WPC 2013 kick-off and training course on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 9AM - 12PM (Pick up materials from 8AM-9AM) The Kick-off meeting gives general information about the conference such as security and emergency procedures, the WPC 2013 allocation of rooms, the volunteers’ role, etc. Following this meeting volunteers will have a walkthrough of the venue and will receive a specific training.

Not attending the mandatory volunteer meeting may have an effect on your application. Please contact christiana@worldpdcongress.org explaining why you would not be able to attend the meeting but that you would still like to be considered as a volunteer.
Volunteers must pick-up their badges and shirts between 8AM-9AM on Monday, September 30, 2013.
